However, in all this, remember that a company is just a vehicle within which a vision and purpose can take form. Accordingly, it is vital that there is a shared vision and commitment to the principles underlying the integration. That should be the primary focus as there is no point setting out to establish a corporate entity when those participating do not have a shared vision and objectives and they are unlikely to commit to it until they do.

That does not require everyone to agree on every aspect of the integration, as that will be impossible, but there should be consensus on the underlying principles and a commitment to the principles of democracy and delegation.

Before starting on the journey, it is important to ensure that a business plan is in place and the company will be financially viable.
