Rob qualified from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1997 and has spent the majority of his practicing career in General Dental Services, initially as an associate and then as a multi practice owner. Throughout his career he has had a keen interest in education, supporting and mentoring dentists through their career pathways as a Postgraduate Tutor, Educational Supervisor, Dental Professional Support Unit Lead and for the past 12 years as a Training Programme Director for Foundation Dentistry and Clinical Director of the Dental Teaching Unit. He has a particular interest in Oral Surgery and in collaboration with his Health Board was able to establish an intermediate Oral Surgery service delivered from a Primary Care Setting.
Alongside his continuing primary care clinical commitments Rob took up his current part time role as Dental Director within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board in 2021 following a period of supporting the health board setting up Urgent Dental Care throughout the pandemic.
