The Dental Reform Programme commenced in September 2017 with a focus on general dental services (GDS). After a pause during the COVID-19 pandemic it restarted in April 2022, with engagement with key stakeholders especially Health Boards and dental services.
The vision for the Dental Reform Programme is to 'provide good access to safe, high quality dental care, responsive to the needs of the population, promoting a preventative approach delivered locally by a highly skilled dental team using skill mix to ensure ongoing service sustainability'.
The Dental Reform Programme is developing, in partnership with the Welsh Government, within the context described in the following key strategic documents.
